The Phoenix take on crosstown rivals Melbourne United for the final game for the regular season in Throwdown XXVIII.

Key Details

MELBOURNE UNITED vs. SOUTH EAST MELBOURNE PHOENIX
Where: John Cain Arena
When: Saturday, February 8 at 8pm
Watch: ESPN

The Phoenix held onto a six-point win over the Adelaide 36ers in their final home game of the regular season, with some late-game heroics from import Joe Wieskamp sealing the victory.

Josh King’s team are leading the Throwdown series 2-1 and looking to top off the bout by taking the final game against United and cementing their spot in the top four.

United had a comeback win over the JackJumpers last round by two points. Dean Vickerman’s side will be looking to take the win over the Phoenix to stamp their spot in the top two and earn a semi-final berth.

KEEP AN EYE ON

The ladder

Of course, it all comes down to the final round of the Hungry Jack’s NBL25 regular season, as Phoenix look to win to take out the Throwdown series. The Phoenix were locked into fourth position and the double-chance after the Sydney Kings lost to Illawarra and Perth Wildcats won over the 36ers. The question will be, will they be travelling to Perth or if they beat United by 20+ points, a Throwdown Seeding Qualifier.
