Off-Season Player Wrap: Foxwell and Mackinnon’s Airs win in double-overtime

The off-season is in full swing with our players starting their Phoenix off-seasons in New Zealand and Germany.

Owen Foxwell – Taranaki Airs (NZ NBL)
15PTS, 9REBS, 7ASTS, 1STL vs Wellington Saints

Owen Foxwell has headed across the ditch to New Zealand to play under Sam Mackinnon and his Taranaki Airs. In the Airs’ first game for the NZNBL season was an unforgettable one, going to double-overtime against the Wellington Saints and taking the win by five points (115-110).

Foxwell showed no signs in slowing down after a stand-out NBL25 season, spending 50 minutes on the court recording 15 points, nine rebounds and seven assists.

Ben Ayre – EWE Baskets Oldenburg (BBL Germany)
3PTS, 1REB, 1AST vs Hamburg

Ben Ayre made a quick dash to Germany to join EWE Baskets Oldenburg for the remainder of the season. After arriving on Friday, he quickly joined the team for their game on Sunday night against Hamburg.

In his first outing the point guard had three points, a rebound and assist in Oldenburg’s 18-point win.       

Oldenburg are sitting 12th on the BBL ladder with every game important to secure their spot in the Playoffs.

Tom Vodanovich – Auckland Tuatara (NZ NBL)
5PTS, 1REB, 1AST, 1STL vs Franklin Bulls

Tom Vodanovich is running it back with Auckland in the NZNBL playing under ex-Phoenix player Cam Gliddon in his first season as head coach. Unfortunately, Auckland went down to the Franklin Bulls by 19-points (62-81) with Vodanovich scoring five points.
