After turning their season around after an 0-8 start, Glover, and Phoenix teammate Owen Foxwell, did the near impossible and claimed the NBL1 South championship..
“Fox (Owen Foxwell) and I were coming into State Basketball Centre in the off-season working out and having a little joke that it wasn’t going to happen, and it happened,” Glover said to Phoenix Media.
Glover averaged 20.9 points and 6.4 rebounds for the season. The preparation the NBL1 has given him has set him up for a massive season at his new club.
“Just to have that touch already there for day one of pre-season is huge. Whenever you get the chance to play, you feel so much better going into an NBL pre-season.
“I feel like I am coming in in really good shape; I’m lucky enough to be quite guarded in NBL1; it helps with the conditioning side of things.”
Hitting 17 threes in the last two games of the NBL1, the sharpshooter is ready to show the competition ‘the full package’.
“(Three-pointers) is something I continue to strive to get better every single day, and that’s obviously just one part of my game.
“I am ready to show my defensive side, get on the rim, do all that kind of stuff, get my teammates involved, and try and show everyone I’ve got the full package.”
The full playing roster list is locked in as the team prepares for two pre-season games next week in Wangaratta against the Brisbane Bullets and the State Basketball Centre for a pre-season Throwdown.
