It took Luke Rosendale just one season to write himself into the NBL record books.

In 45 years of the competition, Rosendale - at one point - had the highest 3pt shooting percentage in league history, shooting better beyond the arc than all that came before him.

Late confidence in the season helped him find his touch and he plans to continue to develop into his second year at the club.

“I think shooting is a lot of confidence, and I think I had a lot of it towards the back end of that season,” Rosendale said to Phoenix Media.

“(Mike Kelly) knows he can throw me in, and he knows what he’s going to get. My role will continue to develop as a defender, and if I get a three, shoot it with as much confidence as I did last year.”

As one of four players from the NBL24 roster that remain with the Phoenix, Rosendale is excited to see where the club is building towards, including learning from a former NBA and NBL MVP Championship guard.

“They (club and coaches) have taken a lot of steps into being the winning team that I think the South East community deserve.

“Derrick Walton Jr is such a talented guard. He knows how to win and win in this league, and that’s important. So, I want to try and pick his brain about that.”

Rosendale is playing finals with the Ballarat Miners in the NBL1 South under Phoenix assistant coach Luke Brennan before the Phoenix pre-season begins August 1.
