Cook, an injury-replacement for Alan Williams, today departs the Phoenix after Williams was medically cleared by the NBL to return to the active roster.
In his short time with the Phoenix, Cook averaged 13.3 points and seven rebounds with his showstopping plays earning the admiration of the Phoenix faithful.
His stunning entrance also saw him earn the Ray Borner Trophy for the most valuable player at the NBL Blitz within a week of touching down in Australia for the first time.
South East Melbourne Phoenix coach Mike Kelly thanked Cook for his contributions both on and off the court.
“Tyler has been an instrumental part of our program, despite only being here for a few weeks,” Kelly said.
“We’ve all seen the highlights and the impeccable attributes on the court, but he’s just as important off the court with his basketball knowledge and leadership.
“He’s been a great asset for us and I wish him nothing but luck wherever he goes next.”
Phoenix centre Alan Williams will join the team on the road as they prepare to play the Adelaide 36ers on Thursday Night.
The squad will then return ahead of their home clash with the Brisbane Bullets on Saturday Night at John Cain Arena.
